Kinesiology Tape (K tape) is an elastic therapeutic taping technique used to prevent and treat a wide variety of both sports related and non-sports related injuries. K tape can also be used to relieve pain and aid the healing process in soft tissues (muscles, tendons and ligaments).
How does it work?
The elasticity of the K tape creates a biomechanical lifting mechanism on the skin that decompresses the soft tissues to promote lymphatic drainage and healing. Benefits of K tape include:
Reduce swelling and inflammation
Reduce muscle fatigue
Increase blood flow
Flushing toxins
Muscle facilitation (stimulation of neural connections between the brain and muscle)
Proprioceptive facilitation (increase flexibility and range of movement)
